Summary

Hip Hop Immortals saw the masters of Hip Hop brought together for the first time in a blockbuster book compiled by Immortal Brands, and an exhibition at Proud Galleries. The exhibition was a unique photographic account of the 100 most influential artists in hip hop history – from the inner cities of America in the 1970’s through to the forefront of global popular music: from Master P to Missy Elliott, from Ice T to Ice Cube, from Eazy E to Jay Z through Heavy D. Seen through the lenses of forty of today’s most talented and celebrated photographers, including Christian Witkin; Nitin Vadukul and Jonathan Mannion; Danny Clinch and Jesse Frohman, as well as British photographer Jennie Baptiste. The timeless photographs are accompanied by the insightful and fluid words of hip hop historian Bonz Malone, Hip Hop Immortals was the first time that so many leading lights in both hip hop and photography had come together to create this pivotal piece of pop culture.

Results

"IG has outdone themselves once again. Their innovative and creative approach captured the attention of hip hop enthusiasts around the world, resulting in a record-breaking turnout at the exhibition."
